Prayagraj/Lucknow: The first two matches of the corporate cricket tournament “Desk to Pitch Cup – Season 1” held at the Jigyasa Cricket Ground were thrilling. Vrindavan Cricket Club defeated Lucknow Super Strikers in the opening match, while WTC defeated SGPGI Warriors in the second. In the inaugural match, Vrindavan Cricket Club won the toss and batted first and scored 168 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Amit Singh from the team played an effective inning of 65 runs in 44 balls and put the team in a strong position. In reply, Lucknow Super Striker’s team could only score 160 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. The match remained exciting till the end, but Vrindavan Cricket Club won with a restrained performance. Harish Singh was selected as the Man of the Match in this match, while Akash got the award for the best batsman and Harish Singh got the award for the best bowler.

In the second match, SGPGI Warriors won the toss and decided to bat first, but the entire team was all out for 102 runs in 19.2 overs. Ashish Tiwari played a fighting innings for the team by scoring 34 runs in 31 balls. A bowler from WTC bowled a lethal spell and took 4 wickets for just 11 runs in 3.2 overs and restricted the opposition team to a low score. Chasing the target of 103 runs, WTC team batted with restraint and won the match by scoring 108 runs. Gaurav and Amit bowled well for SGPGI, but could not help the team win. In this match, Jeetu was selected as the man of the match and best bowler, while Ashish Tiwari got the best batsman award.
