Prayagraj: A program of MNREGA Bachao Sangram Chaupal was organized under the leadership of Gangapar Congress District President Ashfaq Ahmed in Chakpyagi, Soraon. Addressing the Chaupal, Ahmed said that 20 years ago the UPA government had realized the right to work enshrined in the Constitution by implementing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). Due to which the Panchayati Raj system was strengthened. It proved to be the lifeline of the rural Indian economy during pandemic crises like COVID-19. But the BJP government is conspiring to destroy this law by weakening it, which guarantees dignity, security and livelihood to India’s poorest people. But the Congress party is committed from Parliament to the streets that the struggle will continue until MNREGA is completely restored in its original form.
