Prayagraj: Indrajit Singh Praveen Singh Girase has received a Ph.D. in Seed Science and Technology from the Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj. “The practical work of his research was carried out at the Directorate of Onion and Garlic Research, Rajgurunagar, Pune.”

He conducted research on the effects of varying amounts of nitrogen and sulfur in onion seed production on growth, yield, seed quality, and storage capacity. His research has yielded important findings related to increasing onion seed production and addressing the problem of low seed storage capacity, which will prove useful in the development of onion seed production technology in the future.

For this research, he received guidance from Dr. Prashant Kumar Rai, Associate Professor, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding (mentor). He also received support from Dr. Vishwanath Rohidas Yalamalle, Senior Scientist (Seed Science), Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi (co-mentor). Prof. Vaidurya Pratap Sahi, Professor and Head of Department, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, also provided guidance. Dr. Sanjay Singh, Director General, Uttar Pradesh Council of Agricultural Research, Lucknow, served as the external examiner for this thesis. During his research, Dr. Girase has published research articles in international journals such as Elsevier and presented posters and papers at national and international conferences. Furthermore, a project related to his research has been internationally recognized and published globally on a public data portal. He has been congratulated by dignitaries from various fields on this achievement.
