Prayagraj: Dr. Shiv Gopal Mishra, Prime Minister of the Science Council and a leader who brought global recognition to Hindi science writing, merged with the five elements on Wednesday. His last rites were performed with full honors at Rasulabad Ghat. Dr. Mishra’s elder brother’s grandson, Amit Mishra, Additional Commissioner of Customs in New Delhi, and his younger daughter, Nishi Mishra, Director of DRDO’s DIPR Department, jointly lit the funeral pyre.

During the funeral, family members, including Girja Shankar Mishra, Anil Mishra’s nephew, Manish Mishra, Abhishek Mishra (CDA pension), Avnish Mishra, and Shashank Mishra, among others, paid tribute. Councilor Anand Ghildial, former Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Professor K.B. Pandey, Professor Dinesh Mani, Arvind Pandey, Shankar Lal Majur, Professor Anil Shukla, Professor Archana Pandey, Vijay Chitauri, Rajendra Shukla, Dr. Amar Nath Singh, Lakhan Pratapgarhi, Dr. Ramesh Pandey, and Sabrez Ahmed, among others, paid tribute. Meanwhile, a condolence meeting was held by the Institute of Applied Sciences. Sanjay Srivastava, Science Coordinator and Principal of the Institute, stated that Dr. Mishra’s passing has been an irreparable loss to Hindi science writing. He encouraged the new generation to pursue science. Dr. Bhagwan Prasad Pandey stated that Dr. Mishra took the Science Council to new heights. He will always be remembered as an outstanding academician, agricultural scientist, and a great Hindi preacher.
