Prayagraj: Social activist Rajnikant Srivastava stated that a netting system was installed on Shastri Bridge for safety purposes during the Kumbh and Magh Melas. The purpose of this netting was to prevent citizens from littering and any accidents, especially those like jumping. This initiative by the administration was highly commendable in the public interest. He expressed concern that the netting is currently being cut and removed, creating a sense of insecurity among the public. Lakhs of rupees were spent to ensure the safety of the Ganga River and the safety of citizens during the Kumbh and Magh Melas. This removal of the netting is a serious matter. Rajnikant Srivastava questioned on whose orders this netting is being removed, creating an atmosphere of fear among the public. He urged the concerned department and administration to immediately halt the process of removing the netting and take appropriate action, keeping public safety in mind.
