Prayagraj: The Late Jalaluddin Memorial Under-12 Football Championship commenced on Friday at the Symond Football Academy Ground, featuring an exciting opening match between Youth Football Academy (YFA) and Friends United Club. This was Match No. 1 of the tournament, where both teams displayed great young talent and energetic game play. From the very beginning, YFA showed strong coordination and an attacking approach, putting constant pressure on the opponent’s defense. Youth Football Academy demonstrated excellent teamwork and discipline throughout the match and secured a 2–0 victory over Friends United Club. Akshay Srivastava was the star of the match, scoring both goals for YFA. His first goal came early in the match, giving his team a crucial lead. He later doubled the advantage with his second goal, ensuring a comfortable win for his side.
Team Performance: YFA players showed excellent ball control and passing accuracy, while their defense remained solid, preventing Friends United Club from scoring. On the other hand, Friends United Club fought hard and created a few chances but failed to convert them into goals. With this win, Youth Football Academy has made a strong start to their tournament campaign. The match reflected the true spirit of the tournament, highlighting young talent, sportsmanship, and competitive football.
Dr. Umar Hasan (Cardiologist) and Adnan Ahmad were the chief guests for (inaugural) match. The match referees were Prem Bhutani, Vinod Kumar, and Jewel George.
