Prayagraj: A peace havan was organized at the Ashok Nagar residence of Dr. Shiv Gopal Mishra, a renowned pillar of Hindi science writing and Prime Minister of the Science Council. Family members and several prominent figures from the Hindi literary world attended and paid tribute to him. His scientist son Ashutosh Mishra, who arrived from America under adverse circumstances, was specially present at the event. Besides, daughters Shubha, Abha and Nishi Mishra (DRDO Director), sons-in-law Diwakar and Kaushik, nephews Girija Shankar Mishra, Karuna Shankar Mishra, Anil, grandsons Vinayak, Ashish, Manish, Amit Mishra (Additional Commissioner GST), Abhishek Mishra (CDA Pension) and Avnish Mishra (Sughhanshu) along with the entire family attended the event.

During the Shanti Havan, prayers were offered for the departed soul amidst chanting of Vedic mantras. Literary figures and well-wishers present recalled Dr. Mishra’s contributions, saying that he gave a new direction and identity to science writing in Hindi. The passing of Dr. Shiv Gopal Mishra marks not just the departure of an individual, but the end of an era of knowledge, dedication, and inspiration. His contributions to Hindi literature and science writing will always be remembered. This loss is irreparable not only for his family but for the entire literary world.
