Prayagraj/Kaushambi: To promote women’s empowerment, a bicycle and book distribution ceremony was held on Sunday at the Chanda Guest House in Shahjadpur village of the Kada area. The event was organized by retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Shiv Prakash Sonkar under the auspices of the Ma Savitribai Phule Welfare Association, and was attended by a large number of villagers and students. The chief guest was Sanju Singh, Principal of Government College, Akbarpur, Kanpur Dehat, and the special guest was retired IAS officer Santosh Kumar. The guests inaugurated the program by garlanding and lighting a lamp on the oil painting of Ma Savitribai Phule.
In his address, the chief guest stated that education is the most effective means of women’s empowerment. He encouraged girls to move forward, become self-reliant, and establish their own identity in society. The special guest stated that paying special attention to girls’ education is the need of the hour, enabling positive change in society.
During the program, bicycles were distributed to 22 girls and sets of books to 50 girl students, which would facilitate their education. Organizer Shiv Prakash Sonkar said that the purpose of such programs is to promote girl education in rural areas and motivate daughters to move forward. On this occasion, many speakers also expressed their views and highlighted the importance of women’s education. In the program, Naresh Sonkar, former head of Andawa, Nagendra Singh, Komal Singh, Pooja Maurya, Parasnath Maurya, Manish Maurya along with dignitaries of the area, parents and girl students were present. In the end, the organizers concluded the program by expressing gratitude to all the guests. The program was conducted by Suraj Singh Kushwaha.
