Prayagraj: Social activist, Engineer Mohd. Farooq Naseer informed that on April 2 at his newly constructed house at Karamat Ki Chowki, which is near Saif General Store behind Murga Darbar, in morning between 5:30 to 6:00 am, two young men of about 21-22 years of age stole 10X10X4 square iron shuttering, small 3 feet 4 feet cut pieces of iron rods, domestic connection pipes of about 50 feet, the total value of the goods kept in his flat in big sacks, worth about Rs 15000-16000.
In this regard, he dialled 112 at 8:00 in the morning. Within 10 minutes, two police personnel immediately arrived and gave complete information about the incident. After seeing the photographs, they reassured him and said that we will look into it in the camera. It is clear from this incident that Reiki has been done earlier. Reiki was done by children, who were approximately 11-12 years old and there were 3 of them. After enquiry, it was found that all three of them are residents of the Shia Masjid Chowki Karamat.
Engineer Mohd. Farooq Naseer further informed that hundreds of people, possibly Bangladeshis and Rohangiyas who have come from outside and are living in slums around our homes for a long time. Apparently, all of them work as scrap pickers, but most of them commit crimes like theft, smuggling, drug abuse, etc. Complaints have been made to the local administration several times against all these illegal occupants, but despite much insistence, the administration merely does the formality and leaves.
It is noteworthy that despite clear orders from the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the local administration has not obtained any information regarding their citizenship. Through collusion, thousands of illegal immigrants continue to live openly in this area. On March 8, 2026, a group of people intoxicated by drug addicts set junk on fire in a cluster of slums behind Murga Bazaar, causing the walls of three nearby houses to crack. CCTV cameras and other materials were destroyed. The fire was somehow extinguished by watering the houses with pumps. However, these people are now rebuilding their slums at the same site. Despite being illegal, these antisocial and illegal Bangladeshis are again occupying land due to local support. Threatening to kill, committing crimes, and insulting people is their daily routine. (The area approximately 1 km from Marhaba Guest House to Murga Darbar Shia Mosque is home to Bangladeshi slums). He has requested to get this entire matter investigated at a high level and immediately expel the illegal Bangladeshis from India.

Engineer Mohammad Farooq Naseer, a retired government official and social worker, is stunned by the blazing flame that is destroying illegal settlements near his home in the Kareli Karamat chowki neighborhood. He sustained a significant loss when a fire emancipating him from illegal slums created breaches in his walls and burned his personal things. He has addressed the problem of illegal shanties near his house countless times, but all of his protests have gone unheard, with officials turning a blind eye to the illegal settlement of Bangladeshis, Rohangiyas, and Biharis in the region.

Engineer Mohammad Farooq Naseer sent multiple letters to the district administration, but no action has been taken so far. All police officers are asked that the investigation and action against individuals who offer refuge to Bangladeshis living in slums in the Kareli police station area be continued at all costs. This is a menace to society and the nation. People in the Kareli Karamat chowki neighborhood are on the edge of death as a result of garbage accumulation. These cottages are where every crime takes place. What’s striking is that these slums are only growing in Muslim-dominated communities. There must be someone providing sanctuary for these Bangladeshi infiltrators since the garbage has caused several fires, the walls of adjoining houses have burst, and the house owners have suffered financial losses as a result. Thousands of rupees in goods were damaged and dwellings were burned, but unexpectedly, no action was taken against any Bangladeshi infiltrator or slum resident, he bemoaned during a free-wheeling post-fire conversation with media.

On the night of March 9, 2026, a fire broke out in the rubbish stored by these individuals in a Bangladeshi, Rohangiya, and Bihari slum behind Kareli Murga Darbar in the Karamat ki Chowki police chowki neighborhood. The fire was so intense that fractures formed in nearby homes. The fire also wreaked havoc in the neighboring dwellings. The nearby house owners’ goods worth Rs. 15-16 thousand were also burned in the fire. A heater short circuit has caused multiple fires in these people’s slums. We are all waiting to die. He responded while responding to scribes’ questions before signing off, urging the district authorities to take stern measures.
