Prayagraj: A short circuit caused a sudden fire in room number 329 of the PG hostel at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital around 4:00 pm on Monday evening. According to reports, the room was assigned to a PG student who was away at the time of the incident. Seeing smoke rising from inside the room, the students nearby immediately broke down the door and tried to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher. The fire brigade was also immediately informed. The fire brigade, which arrived on the scene, brought the fire under control in a timely manner, averting a major tragedy. The contents of the room were destroyed by the fire, although no students or other individuals were physically harmed.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the hospital’s Chief Superintendent, Dr. Neelam Singh, Hostel Warden Dr. Dilip Chaurasia, and other officials arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. Principal Dr. V.K. Pandey took stock of the situation and assured appropriate action and thanked the fire brigade team for their prompt response.
