Prayagraj: On the occasion of completion of its 90 years, Akashvani Prayagraj honoured the artists selected for the Academy Award by the Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy who have been associated with Akashvani Prayagraj. The artists were honoured with garlands and mementos at a function held in the auditorium of Akashvani Prayagraj under the chairmanship of Deputy Director Prasar Bharati (Cluster Head) K.K. Gupta. The artists honored included Shrikant Vaishya for folk singing, Pandit Pankaj Kumar Srivastava for tabla playing, Ms. Sushma Sharma for stage direction, and Manoj Gupta for light music singing. Anup Kumar Banerjee was unable to attend the event due to being out of town; he will be honored later.

Program Head Neha Gupta said, “Akashvani Prayagraj is overwhelmed by the achievements of these artists. We are proud that these artists are serving music through our station and bringing glory to Akashvani Prayagraj.” Engineering Chief Jairam Singh, Assistant Director Dheeraj Kumar, Administrative Officer Mohammad Shabbir, Program Executives Bhupendra Kumar Mishra, Sundaram Tiwari, Abhaykant Tiwari, Mohammad Shamim, Pradeep Mishra, and all other officers and staff were present at the program. Program Executive Deepak Kumar Rai conducted the program.
