Prayagraj: On Tuesday, on the auspicious occasion of the big Tuesday of the month of Jyeshtha, a grand Sunderkand recitation and a huge feast were organised in front of the Excise Bhawan located in Manfordganj of Sangam city (Prayagraj). The officers and employees of the Excise Department participated enthusiastically in this. This unique tradition, which has been going on continuously for the last 9 years, was followed with full devotion and enthusiasm this year too. In this, a wonderful confluence of faith and social concern was seen.

This religious ritual was successfully conducted with the joint and active cooperation of representatives from the Excise Department, the distillery industry, and the sugar mill. From early morning, the entire complex resounded with Hanuman hymns and verses from the Sundarkand. Following this, a massive feast commenced, where locals and passersby gathered in large numbers to seek the Lord’s blessings and partake of the prasad.

This year’s event wasn’t limited to religious beliefs, but also delivered a significant message to society. The organizers, while spreading awareness about the environment and health, pledged to “conserve energy waste” and “use edible oil sparingly and judiciously.” Additionally, “Melody Chocolate,” a reference to the country’s illustrious Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was also featured prominently at the event, becoming a major attraction for both children and visitors. Officials and dignitaries graced the event with their presence.

Filled with religious and social fervor, this feast included former officers of the Excise Department, serving employees, and District Excise Officer Sushil Kumar Mishra, who performed aarti to Sankatmochan Hanuman and distributed prasad. Thanks to the large turnout of local people and administrative support, the event continued smoothly until late in the evening.
