Stopped in public and vandalized car, snatched money, 9 booked
Prayagraj: Relatives of Abid, a shooter of mafia leader Atiq Ahmed, launched a deadly attack on the son of a dairy owner in broad daylight. They attacked him with bricks, stones, and sticks and vandalized his car. They also stole 36,000 rupees from the car. Puramufti police have registered an FIR against nine people, including four named, and are investigating.
In his complaint to the police, Masood Ahmed, a resident of Kareli, stated that his father runs a dairy farm and he helps him. He said that on May 29th, between four and five in the evening, he was walking along the road below the Bhagwatpur Overbridge. As he drove ahead, he noticed some people standing with their bikes in the road. Despite honking repeatedly, they refused to move. He asked them to pull over, but they began a fight. His father was with him, so he left at his request.
A short while later, while returning from work, the same young men stopped him. They had also called some of their friends. They included Talha, Abubakar, Taha’s son Samsullah, his cousin Ehtesham, and four or five unidentified men. They began vandalizing his car. When he resisted, they pulled him out of the car, surrounded him, and attacked him, brutally beating him with bricks, stones, and sticks. When he fell unconscious, they attacked him repeatedly and fled, threatening him. Passersby noticed him a short time later and informed his family, who rushed him to the hospital. They also looted the cash in his car before fleeing. The victim claims that Atiq Ahmed’s shooters are relatives of Abid Pradhan and residents of Asrauli village. Their brother, Danish, is Abid’s son-in-law, and they carry out hooliganism throughout the area in Abid’s name. Three months ago, they attacked two brothers, Arshad and Athar, in Puramufti. While they were returning from prayers in a black Fortuner, they attacked them repeatedly with iron rods, iron rods, knives, and pistol butts. The attackers fractured Arshad’s head and Athar’s arm. An FIR was filed in this case, but their hooliganism continued without any concrete action. Puramufti police say that a case has been registered and the accused are being searched.
