Prayagraj: A peace committee meeting was held at 6:30 pm on Friday at a marriage hall in the Karaili police station area to ensure a peaceful, harmonious, and orderly celebration of the upcoming Muharram festival. Held under the direction of the station in-charge, the meeting was attended by taziyadars, public representatives, dignitaries, and officials from various departments. The meeting discussed in detail important topics such as the routes for the Tazia processions during Muharram, security arrangements, cleanliness, electricity and water supply, and traffic management. Officials urged that all events be conducted in accordance with established regulations, while also urging people to avoid rumors and report any problems immediately to the police.
Sub-Inspector Vijay Prakash said that Muharram is a festival that conveys the message of mutual brotherhood, discipline, and peace. With everyone’s cooperation, it will be celebrated in a harmonious atmosphere. It was also clarified that no sticks, swords, or other traditional weapons will be displayed in the processions.
The meeting was chaired by Peace Committee Chairman Chand Mian. Present on the occasion were Karaili Police Outpost in-charge Ramesh Singh, Karailbag Police Outpost in-charge Brijesh Singh, GTB Nagar Police Outpost in-charge Ajit Maurya, councillors from various wards, volunteers from Civil Defense, the District Crime Prevention Committee, and taziyadars from the area.
