Prayagraj: A meeting of the United Forum of Pensioner Welfare Association Prayagraj was held under the chairmanship of Sushil Kumar Srivastava at the residence of former railway employee Yogendra Pandey at 201, Bhusauli Tola. Sushil Kumar Srivastava, who was presiding over the meeting, stressed on the immediate addition of the word ‘pensioner’ in the Terms of Reference (TOR). Satyendra Bahadur Singh, keeping in mind the old, less educated pensioners and employees in the Railways, demanded from the Railway Administration that manual passes should be given as before on demand. Rajesh Kumar demanded that 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% should be given to the pensioners on attaining the age of 65, 70, 75 and 80 years respectively because with the increase in age and increase in salary later, it is often not possible to use it for the pensioners. Munna ji said that today we are moving towards becoming the third economy, and therefore, there is no shortage of funds. Therefore, the old facilities provided to senior citizens and pensioners should be restored without delay. Rajesh Kumar stressed the need to immediately abolish the validation clause and add the word “pensioner” to the TOR. Yogendra Pandey and Prakash Kumar, in their joint statement, said that pensioners and employees of departments that have not yet received the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission should be immediately granted these benefits. Outsourcing should be immediately abolished and permanent jobs should be provided to our youth, so that our nation can become stronger and more prosperous. Employees who face obstacles in granting their due leave should be granted leave immediately upon request. Abrar Ahmed said that only through our unity and the power of struggle will we achieve success in achieving our demands. Yogendra Pandey moderated the meeting.
