Prayagraj: A long-running movement in Prayagraj demanding the honor and preservation of the memory of immortal martyr Thakur Roshan Singh took a new direction. The movement has been ongoing for the past three months at the martyrdom site of Thakur Roshan Singh, located in the Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital campus. As part of this, a sit-in protest was also held for 13 days.

This movement was primarily attended by members of the Sanatan Rakshak Sena and the Akhil Kshatriya Mahasabha, along with members from all walks of life. The agitators’ primary demand is to rename the Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital after the immortal martyr Thakur Roshan Singh, and to develop his martyrdom site in a respectable manner.

Regarding this demand, former Cabinet Minister Siddharth Nath Singh had also assured that the demand related to the honour of martyr Thakur Roshan Singh and naming of the hospital would be conveyed to the government and efforts would be made in this direction.

At the same time, National President of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party and Cabinet Minister of Uttar Pradesh Government Om Prakash Rajbhar also raised the issue of respect of martyr Thakur Roshan Singh prominently in the House and made his voice heard to the government and said that I and my party are standing strongly for this work.

Reaching the protest site on September 9, City North MLA Harsh Vardhan Bajpai also spoke about building a big entrance gate in the name of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh and developing the campus in his honor. He asked for a big statue of Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh and naming a big building in the hospital campus after Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh, inscribing them in books to preserve the memories of the martyrs for generations to come, and also asked for a museum to be built on the campus to remember their struggles and sacrifices, as well as beautifying the martyrdom site. Chail MLA Pooja Pal also supported the demand for honoring Shaheed Thakur Roshan Singh.

In this sequence, during the arrival of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Maharaj in Allahabad High Court on Monday, the issue of respect for martyr Thakur Roshan Singh was strongly put before him. Sanatan Rakshak Sena’s National General Secretary and Spokesperson Birendra Singh Journalist, State General Secretary Manish Tiwari Advocate and National Co-ordinator Vivek Vats, former Treasurer of High Court Bar Association and President of All Kshatriya Mahasabha Prayagraj Division Rajkumar Singh Advocate, Metropolitan President Anil Singh All Kshatriya Mahasabha, Prayagraj Division Vice President Shivsagar Singh, President of Kashi Province Vishwa Hindu Parishad Dr. K.P. Singh, Advocate Utpal Singh Parashar, Devendra Singh Advocate, Bali Singh, Ramesh Singh, Shailendra Singh Mocha, Rajendra Yadav Mithlesh Gupta Subodhkant Verma, Govind Patel, National Labor Leader Shyamsurat Pandey Ajay Govind Rao, Advocate Rajeshwar Singh Former Treasurer, Vijay Singh Suchita Pharmacy along with people from all sections of society and hundreds of advocates strongly placed the demand related to the honor of martyr Thakur Roshan Singh before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

While submitting the memorandum to the Chief Minister, it was requested that in view of the martyrdom and historical contribution of immortal martyr Thakur Roshan Singh, concrete steps should be taken by the government towards naming Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital after him and keeping his memories alive forever.

Now that the memorandum of demands has reached the Chief Minister, those involved in the movement are eagerly awaiting the government’s next action and decision. The protesters expressed hope that the government will take positive action on this demand, which is linked to the memory and honor of the immortal martyr Thakur Roshan Singh..
