Prayagraj: A special meeting of the United Forum of Pensioner Welfare Associations, Prayagraj, was convened at 201, Bhusauli Tola. The meeting unanimously passed a resolution put forward by Speaker Sushil Kumar, and resolved that all members would be present at Patthar Church (the protest site) on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, staging a sit-in in support of their demands, so that the government can hear them and take steps to fulfill them. Yogendra Pandey stated that pensioners have been making continuous demands since the Eighth Pay Commission was established, but the government has fallen on deaf ears and is not taking any of their demands seriously. They have adopted a stubborn approach, forcing us pensioners to resort to agitation. “All our brave members are requested to be present tomorrow and encourage us with their presence,” he said. “Our unity is our strength.”
The meeting was attended by D.N. Saxena, Dwarka Prasad, Ramesh Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, P.N. Dubey, Uday Chand Sonkar, Ramkishore, Nama Nigar, Virendra Pandey, Javed Akhtar, Ramlal Chacha, Ramesh, Ansar Ahmed, Rajesh Yadav, and Yogendra Pandey.
