Special Lecture on “The Present and Future of Hindi” Held at Hindi University
Prayagraj; Presiding over a special lecture on “The Present and Future of Hindi” organized on Monday, September 28, as part of the Hindi Month closing ceremony at Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kumud Sharma said that the Hindi language carries India’s composite culture. She emphasized that all Indian languages are national languages and deserve equal respect.
The programme, held at the Ghalib Auditorium, was attended by Prakash Dubey, Group Editor of Dainik Bhaskar, as the Chief Guest. Registrar Dr. Surendra Gadewar and Public Relations Officer B. S. Mirge were also present on the dais.
Prof. Sharma stated that under the National Education Policy, Hindi as well as all Indian languages should be respected. She remarked that Indian languages are like members of one family. Highlighting the relationship between journalism and Hindi, she said that journalism has played a significant role in the growth and development of Hindi. Speaking about the present status of the language, she noted that Hindi’s inner journey has reached foreign countries as well. After globalization, mass media and journalism have helped Hindi gain a place on the global stage.
Delivering the special lecture, Chief Guest Prakash Dubey said that non-Hindi-speaking journalists and writers have made important contributions to the advancement of Hindi. He stressed that while respecting one’s own language, it is equally important to respect other languages. He added that Indian languages should also be remembered and celebrated on the occasion of Hindi Day. During the programme, certificates were distributed to students who had participated in various competitions organized during Hindi Month.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the singing of the University Anthem. Rajesh Kumar Yadav, Hindi Officer, conducted the proceedings, while Registrar Dr. Surendra Gadewar delivered the vote of thanks.
