Prayagraj: A musical recitation was held at the Adab Ghar in Kareli under the auspices of Bazm-e-Ahbaab in memory of the late renowned poet Inam Hamfi. The program was presided over by Saleh Rashid, former head of the Arabic and Persian Department at Allahabad University. The chief guest was Mohammad Akbar Ahmed Khan, founder and president of Care for Health and provincial general secretary of the Indian Muslim Public Affairs Committee (IMPAC).
Present as special guests were Surendra Rahi, a member of Civil Society Allahabad, and Shahab Hamfi, Vice President of MK Educational and Welfare Trust. The event was hosted by Asrar Niazi. Bazm-e-Ahbaab President Amjad Hussain Ravi, Suhail Akhtar, and Asad Hussain Tabi welcomed everyone with garlands.
On this occasion, Saleh Rashid, while highlighting the literary contribution of late Inam Humphy and the characteristics of his poetry, said that he created a distinct identity in the literary world through his works. Asrar Niazi remembered his personality, behavior and literary services. Shahab Humphy shared memories related to Inam Humphy and paid him a heartfelt tribute. Surendra Rahi said that his poetry reflects a deep reflection of society and human emotions.
After this, a series of musical performances began based on the agreed-upon couplet, “It is cruel that the pen should remain in the hands of the unskilled.” Aslam Allahabadi, Akhtar Aziz, Haseen Jilani, Waqif Ansari, Dr. Shahid Khan, Farmood Allahabadi, Suhail Akhtar, Amjad Hussain Ravi, Aleem Ullah, Jalal Phoolpuri, Salal Allahabadi, Asad Ghazipuri, Prakash Singh Ashq, and Bakhtiyar Yusuf presented their poetry and received considerable praise.
Advocate Bakhtiyar Yusuf conducted the program. Amjad Hussain Ravi, the president of Bazm-e-Ahbaab and the eldest son of the late renowned poet Shakir Hussain Tashna, and his nephew Suhail Akhtar expressed their gratitude to all the guests and poets. A large number of literary enthusiasts, including Ashad Hussain Tabi and Sarfaraz Ahmed, were present.
