Prayagraj: On the third day of Ramlila, the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram and the killing of Tataka were staged at Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Samiti Civil Lines on Tuesday. When King Dasharatha is unable to have a son, Sage Shringi, on the advice of his Guru Vashishtha, performs the Putraishti Yagna. After the yagna, Agnidev (fire god) offers Prasadam, which King Dasharatha distributes to his three queens—Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra. Subsequently, Lord Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana, and Shatrughna are born, and celebrations are held in Ayodhya. At the time when Lord Shri Ram was born, the devotees sitting in the Civil Lines Ramlila complex filled the entire atmosphere with devotion by chanting Jai Shri Ram. Maharishi Vishwamitra then approaches King Dasharatha and requests him to take Rama and Lakshmana with him to the forest to protect his yagna from the demons Tataka, Maricha, and Subahu. The audience is moved by the scene.
Following this, the episode of the killing of Tadka is reenacted, in which Shri Ram and Lakshman, accompanied by Guru Vishwamitra, arrive in the forests of Buxar. There, they face the terrifying terror of the demon Tadka. To protect Dharma and the sages, Lord Shri Ram kills Tadka, Maricha, and Subahu, after which the entire field resounds with cheers.
