Prayagraj: On Saturday, at the Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Samiti, Civil Lines, Prayagraj, Lord Rama, as a last attempt just before the war, sent Bali’s son, Angad, as a peace messenger to Ravana’s court. Ravana disrespected Angad and tried to humiliate him by calling him small and a monkey. Angad broke Ravana’s pride, reminding him of the incident of Lord Parashuram and Sahasrabahu and made Ravana understand his status and religion.
When Ravana challenged Angad, he planted his foot in the middle of the assembly and challenged Ravana and any warrior in his court to move it. Even Ravana’s most prominent warriors and ministers were unable to move Angad’s foot, causing silence in Ravana’s court. Angad explained to Ravana that he should hand over Mother Sita to Shri Ram with respect, otherwise the destruction of his entire Lanka is certain.
As the messenger of Lord Shri Ram, Hanuman ji crosses the sea and reaches Lanka and meets Mother Sita in Ashok Vatika and gives her Shri Ram’s ring and a message. After taking permission from Mother Sita, Hanuman ji destroys Ashok Vatika and kills many demons including Ravana’s son Akshay Kumar. On Ravana’s orders, a cloth is wrapped around Hanuman ji’s tail and set on fire, after which Hanuman ji burns the entire golden Lanka to ashes with his burning tail. During this enactment, slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” started being raised. Kumbh Karan Vadh Laxman Shakti on 18 October.
