Prayagraj: The killing of Ravana and the Sita Agni Pariksha (fire test) were staged at the Ramlila on Monday at the Shri Shri Bal Ramlila Committee in Civil Lines, Prayagraj. This is the most important and emotional part of the Ramayana. A fierce battle is enacted between Lord Shri Ram and Ravana, in which Lord Ram ultimately kills Ravana with a divine, infallible arrow.

After Ravana’s death, Lord Rama and Sita reunite. To dispel social norms and societal doubts, Rama asks Sita to undergo a fire test. Sita asks Lakshmana to reveal the fire and enters the fire to confirm her purity. Agnidev himself then brings Sita safely out and presents her before Rama. On October 20, 2026, the Ramlila will feature the coronation of Rama, the singing of Luv and Kusha, and a colorful program.
