Prayagraj: In Rani Revati Devi Saraswati Vidya Niketan Inter College, Rajapur Prayagraj of Kashi Province affiliated to Vidya Bharti, 51 girls were duly worshipped as Mahagauri on the auspicious occasion of Durgashtami in Sharadiya Navratri. School’s music teacher and media in-charge Manoj Gupta told that the school’s principal Banke Bihari Pandey and his wife Sita Pandey and the entire school family jointly worshipped 51 small girls as Mata Mahagauri by offering prayers and performing aarti and by giving them gifts and Dakshina, they received blessings with the wish for the progress of the country and the school.

Principal Banke Bihari Pandey explained that the Ashtami festival, especially Maha Ashtami of Navratri, symbolizes the power of Goddess Durga, divine femininity, and the triumph of good over evil in Hinduism. On this day, Goddess Mahagauri is worshipped, and Kanya Pujan, dedicated to the ultimate form of Shakti on the eighth day, holds special significance. This day is considered highly auspicious for spiritual renewal and gaining courage.
