It is known that Rupam Mishra, National Vice President of the CPI (ML)’s cultural wing, “Jan Sanskriti Manch,” who calls herself a so-called leftist progressive, had made objectionable comments on Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and Indian women through her Facebook ID. On March 31, 2026, a large number of Bahujan intellectuals and advocates surrounded the Colonelganj police station and demanded the registration of an FIR against Rupam Mishra, who had committed the criminal act. The lawyers and Bahujan intellectuals participating in the protest collectively asked, “When a case has been registered against the perpetrator who insulted the architect of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, and the women of India, why are the police protecting the perpetrator? Why are the police being so lethargic and lax? While the case is so grave and serious, why aren’t the police immediately investigating the perpetrator, arresting her under serious charges, and sending her to jail?”
Speakers questioned why the so-called progressive leftists, including the CPI (ML) and the Jan Sanskriti Manch, who often raise slogans and raise slogans on small issues, are silent.
