Prayagraj: The 87th birth anniversary of the late T.P. Mishra, a renowned national leader of central and postal employees and former convener of the United Trade Union of Allahabad, was celebrated in a highly dignified atmosphere in the auditorium of the local Hindustani Academy on May 2. Organized by the Triveni Seva Samiti, leaders from various trade unions, prominent intellectuals, family members, and friends attended the event in large numbers to pay their heartfelt tributes.
On this prestigious occasion, five distinguished personalities and meritorious students who have made outstanding contributions to society in various fields were honored with the “Triveni Gaurav Samman.” Among those honored were Naseem Ansari for social activism, R.N. Yadav for trade union leadership, and Anand Malviya for outstanding social contributions. Among the students, Sakshi Dubey and Divyansh Pal were awarded this prestigious honor for their outstanding performance.
The event was presided over by senior leader Comrade Harishchandra Dwivedi, and the stage was moderated by Pratibha Mishra. The topic of the seminar was introduced by Prabuddh Mishra. Speakers remembered the multifaceted personality of the late T.P. Mishra, describing him as a “people’s leader” who dedicated his entire life to the struggle for the rights of workers and employees. During the seminar, while discussing the current labor environment, the demand for a minimum wage of Rs. 26,000 per month was also prominently raised.
Former Uttar Pradesh Bar Council President Amarendra Nath Singh, Anand Pandey, Subhash Chandra Pandey, Naseem Ansari, Vikas Swarup, Mustakim, Dharmendra Yadav, and former RMS General Secretary Narottam Tiwari graced the event. Hundreds of employee leaders, including senior postal employee leaders C.B. Singh, Pramod Rai, Ashish Banerjee, Rajesh Verma, renowned physician Dr. L.S. Ojha, social worker Anant Bahadur, Rajesh Yadav and Yogendra Pandey from the Railway Pensioners Association, and S.P. Sharma from the Bank Employees Union, were present.
Late T.P. Mishra’s wife Urmila Mishra, brother Ravindranath Mishra, his son and District Magistrate of Mau district Praveen Mishra, his daughters Prama, Pratibha, Prabha and daughters-in-law were specially present at the condolence meeting. At the end of the program, Triveni Seva Samiti expressed its gratitude to all the visiting guests, colleagues and staff members.
