Prayagraj: HQ Central Air Command organised a Seminar at Prayagraj on the topic “Bhavi Alokah-Crystal Gazing into Operational Employment of Helicopters in Future Conflicts on Monday. The three-session Seminar was inaugurated by Air Mshl B Manikantan, PVSM, AVSM, VM, AOC-in-C, CAC. The former Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major, PVSM, AVSM, SC, VM, ADC, (Retd) graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The seminar, conducted in three sessions, commenced with opening address by AOC-in-C and keynote address by Air Marshal Arvindra Singh Butola, PVSM, VM, VSM (Retd), President Rotary Wing Society of India (RWSI).
Important topics like evolution of helicopter employment, impact of helicopters on battlefield dynamics, role of helicopters in counter insurgency and urban warfare, asymmetric warfare, autonomous delivery systems and futuristic doctrinal review, capability development for future battlefields etc were discussed during the seminar. The distinguished speakers included Air Mshl SP Wagle, PVSM, VM (Retd), AVM Rajesh Isser, AVSM, VM (Retd), AVM SK Tiwari, AVM AR Shendye, VM, Prof B Govindarajan amongst other senior officers. The Seminar provided a deeper insight into helicopter employment and its evolution catering to various roles for helicopters.
The closing address was delivered by Air Marshal PV Shivanand, AVSM, VM, Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ CAC. The Seminar concluded with felicitation of speakers and a vote of thanks. The seminar proved to be a great brainstorming session and sparked strategic insights and intense deliberations on helicopter operations amid evolving threats and in a contested environment.
