Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Investiture Ceremony held at GHS
Prayagraj: “Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.” — Simon Sinek. Holistic growth has always been the defining hallmark of Girls’ High School & College. Alongside academic excellence, the institution places equal emphasis on nurturing values, discipline, and leadership qualities, thereby shaping students into responsible and compassionate citizens. Upholding this vision, the school organised its Annual Installation Ceremony of the newly elected Office Bearers in the College Auditorium on Tuesday.
The programme commenced with the gracious arrival of the Chief Guest, Saumya Agarwal, IAS, Divisional Commissioner of Prayagraj, and the Guest of Honour, Vinod Kumar Singh, City Magistrate of Prayagraj who were received with a warm and enthusiastic round of applause by the gathering. The newly elected Office Bearers then marched proudly in procession to the stage, followed by the Principal, Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) V. Eusebius, the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and other distinguished guests, House Mistresses, Club Advisors, and Coordinators, adding dignity and grandeur to the occasion.
The ceremony began with the Prayer, followed by Scripture Reading and the School Song, creating an atmosphere of reverence, solemnity, and pride. The Principal Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) V. Eusebius warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour and highlighted their exemplary contribution to public service and society. She also encouraged the students to strive for excellence and work not only for the betterment of the institution but also for the welfare of society at large. The Principal ceremonially handed over the school flags to the Chief Guest, who in turn presented them to the Head Girl, House Captains, Vice Captains, Sports Captain, College Prefects, and the Junior School Captain. The badges were thereafter pinned onto the newly appointed Office Bearers by the House Mistresses and Advisors of the various Clubs, symbolising the assumption of responsibility and leadership.
One of the most significant moments of the ceremony was the Lighting of the Lamps. The Principal handed over the ceremonial flame — symbolising the light of knowledge, wisdom, and service — to the Head Girl, Saubhagya Shree Jaiswal. Thereafter, the Green House Captain, Yellow House Captain, Red House Captain, Blue House Captain, College Prefects, and the Junior School Captain lit their lamps from the sacred flame, signifying their commitment to lead with sincerity, integrity, and dedication.
The Chief Guest then administered the Oath of Office to all the newly elected leaders. The Office Bearers solemnly pledged to uphold the honour and prestige of the institution and to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and commitment.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest congratulated the students and spoke about the true essence of leadership and responsibility. She encouraged the girls to remain confident, courageous, and compassionate in all their endeavours, reminding them that genuine leadership lies in serving others with humility and determination.
The Principal presented mementos to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour as a token of gratitude and appreciation for gracing the occasion with their esteemed presence. The ceremony concluded with a Prayer of Dedication and Benediction, leaving behind a spirit of inspiration, commitment, and renewed enthusiasm among the young leaders as they embarked on their journey of responsibility and service.
