75 units donated in historic 150-unit blood donation drive for 2nd time
Prayagraj: Achieving another significant social service milestone, Rotary Prayagraj Platinum successfully organized its second blood donation camp under “Raktaarpan 2.0,” in collaboration with the Allahabad Nursing Home Association (ANHA) at the ANHA Blood Bank, Civil Lines, Prayagraj. Once again, 75 units of blood were donated at this camp, giving hope to many needy patients.
Of particular note was the collection of 75 units of blood, just like in “Rakt Arpan 1.” By collecting a total of 150 units of blood in the last 10 months, Rotary Prayagraj Platinum has created a new history in the field of social service and set an inspiring example. Club President Rotarian Dr. Pratik Pandey said, “Rakt Arpan is not just a blood donation camp, but a lifelong public service campaign, aimed at ensuring that Prayagraj never faces a blood shortage.” He added that in the coming years, Rotary Prayagraj Platinum will dedicate a state-of-the-art blood donation vehicle to the ANHA Blood Bank through the “Rakt Arpan Abhiyan,” through which approximately 15 blood donation camps will be organized each month in various areas of the city and district.
In the camp, blood donor Rotarian Nitin Chopra set an inspiring example by donating blood for the 50th time in his life and emerged as a “Blood Donation Hero” for all.
The main coordinator of the camp was Rotarian Dr. Sharad Jain, who is known for regularly providing blood to the needy and has a special identity as a “life saver” in Prayagraj.
“Raktaarpan 2.0” was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Ashish Tandon, President, ANHA. The event was graced by the presence of several senior physicians, including Dr. Nikunj Agarwal, Dr. B.B. Agarwal, Dr. Piyush Dixit, Dr. Anurag Agarwal, Dr. Ranjana Pandey, Dr. Sanjeev Gupta, Dr. Arun Gupta, Dr. Avinish Saxena, and Dr. Ghanshyam Mishra.
All doctors and blood donors were honored at the event by Rotary Prayagraj Platinum and the Allahabad Nursing Home Association. Rotarian Manish Garg, Rotarian Sanjay Singh, Rotarian Ashutosh Singh, and Rotarian Dr. Neha Dua Ohri made special contributions to the successful operation of the camp, overseeing the camp management and blood donation arrangements. In his message, Rotarian Manish Garg, media in-charge, said, “One unit of blood can save someone’s entire life. Blood donation is not only a service to humanity, but also the greatest way to give life. Every healthy person in society should come forward and donate blood regularly, so that no one in need faces a shortage of blood at any time.”
