Prayagraj: On the occasion of World Environment Day (WED), Cantonment Board Prayagraj organized a massive tree plantation program with the aim of environmental protection and promoting green environment. The tree-planting program was inaugurated at Vicar Public Junior High School by Brigadier Navneet Dagar (Army Medal), President of the Cantonment Board, and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Nagesh Pandey. The occasion emphasized raising public awareness about environmental protection and encouraging more tree planting.
As part of the program, tree planting took place at the Cantonment High School, RAB Public School, and Udaan School, all operated under the Cantonment Board. In addition, large-scale tree planting also took place at the Cantonment Board office, Cantonment Hospital, and Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) complex.
On this occasion, Chairman Brigadier Navneet Dagar (Army Medal) and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Nagesh Pandey, while addressing the students, teachers and staff present, highlighted the important role of trees in environmental protection and appealed to everyone to plant as many trees as possible and take regular care of them.
Principals of all the schools, teachers, Cantonment Board employees and a large number of students were present in the programme. This tree plantation drive organized by Cantonment Board Prayagraj is an important initiative towards environmental protection, which will prove helpful in ensuring a clean, healthy and green environment for the coming generations.
