Family living under shadow of death, knocking door to door for license and security!
He was shot in the back on Diwali; accused out on bail
Prayagraj: Despite the deadly attack on social worker Sudhanshu Shukla (38), a resident of Anandpuram Colony, Kasari Masari Chakia, in the Dhoomanganj police station area, nearly a year and a half ago, the police administration has yet to provide security, nor has the district administration issued a weapons license. The victim, Sudhanshu Shukla, has repeatedly visited the offices of the Police Commissioner and District Magistrate. It’s worth noting that on October 31, 2024, during the special Diwali festival, Sudhanshu Shukla was shot and injured by unidentified criminals with a pistol in Chakniratul, in the Khuldabad police station area. Shukla was shot in the back during the firing. Shukla was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors removed the bullet after surgery, saving his life. Following the incident, a case was filed against the main accused, Mohammad Cash, and accused Alishan alias Bheda, and both were sent to jail. They were released on bail a few months later. It is noteworthy that both accused have over two dozen criminal cases registered against them in various police stations. Consequently, Sudhanshu Shukla and his family face a threat to their lives. Since the accused’s release from jail, the victim’s family has lived in fear. Despite this, to date, neither has the victim been provided with security personnel nor has the district administration issued any weapons license for his safety. Immediately after the incident, the victim applied for a weapons license with the District Magistrate of Prayagraj and met with the District Magistrate several times to request protection, but the Police Commissioner and District Magistrate have fallen on deaf ears. Consequently, Sudhanshu Shukla’s family is terrified and fearful that a similar incident may occur again. Sudhanshu Shukla stated that he has applied for a weapons license, but despite the threat, it has not yet been issued. The applicant has appealed to the District Magistrate to issue a weapons license. Sudhanshu Shukla alleges that he met the District Magistrate several times in this matter but no help was provided.
