Managing Committee meeting of Bank of Baroda Employees Union held
Prayagraj: The Managing Committee meeting of the Bank of Baroda Employees Union was held on Sunday at the Golden Tree Hotel. Deputy General Secretary S.K. Singh welcomed and congratulated the members present at the meeting. General Secretary Karunesh Shukla stated that the bank’s staff members are facing immense pressure to provide quality customer service due to the dwindling number of employees. Branches that require two or three cash counters are now operating with only one. The organization raised this issue with the higher management and demanded adequate recruitment for clerical and sub-staff positions. They requested leniency in the process for providing employment to an employee’s dependent family after their death, and ensuring compassionate appointments for those dependent on the deceased. The branches employ temporary assistants, whom the bank is exploiting by not regularizing them. The organization also reiterated its demand for regularizing all temporary employees who have been working with the bank for years. He explained that employees working in bank branches are under immense pressure due to staff shortages, forcing them to work extra hours to complete their work. The organization demanded overtime pay as per regulations for such work. The lack of infrastructure and connectivity in the branch premises negatively impacts customers and employees. He stated that he has informed the bank manager of all the problems in writing. The meeting was chaired by State President Rajesh Srivastava. He stated that the bank management’s delay in PLI payments and its refusal to adhere to five-day banking is angering employees. Deputy General Secretary S.B.
