Sulem Sarai Dadhikando fair today, Dhamaal part, special brass band centre of attraction

Prayagraj: All preparations for the Sulem Sarai Dadhikando Fair are nearly complete. Devotees are eager to witness the live images of Lord Krishna and Balram at the centuries-old, historic fair, which will be held on Sunday.

Waiting with great eagerness with wide eyes: Fair in-charge and spokesperson Himanshu Nikki Gupta said that the fair’s procession will depart from the Thakurdwara temple complex in Sulem Sarai at 8 p.m., in accordance with its religious tradition. The worship and aarti of the deity will be performed by chief guest Mahant Balveer Giri Ji Maharaj of the Baghambari Math, and special guests MP Praveen Patel, ADM City Satyam Mishra, MLA Siddharthnath Singh, Mayor Umesh Chandra Ganesh Kesarwani, BJP Metropolitan President Sanjay Gupta, former Mayor Abhilasha Gupta, and Dr. Sushil Kumar Sinha.

After the Aarti, Lord Krishna and Balram will ride on an elephant and go on a city tour with their entourage to give live darshan to the devotees. The flag-patterns in front of the entourage, DJ band, procession of Ganesh, Hanuman, Vishnu, Durga and Shankar ji, Dhammal party of 40 members and special brass band will be the centre of attraction. Along with drums and cymbals, more than 25 lighting committees will illuminate the fair with modern lighting. More than a dozen artistic tableaux based on Krishna Leelas and social messages will also be taken out. Under the leadership of Fair President Piyush Kesarwani, General Secretary Mukesh Sahu, Treasurer Ankur Rastogi, Vice President Himanshu Gupta, Fair Chief Virendra Kesarwani, Dharamchand Jaiswal, Narendra Kheda, Fair Incharge Subhash Kesarwani, Convener Piyush Jaiswal, Gulshan Arora, the team will start from Sulem Sarai Thakur Dwara and will pass through Sulem Sarai, Jayantipur, Pritam Nagar, Dhumanganj, PAC situated Mai Ji Kutiya, Meera Patti, Transport Nagar, Mundera Chungi and will reach back to Thakur Dwara and end there. Dhumanganj ACP Ravi Kumar Gupta stated that all security arrangements have been completed. A large police force, along with two companies of the RAF and PAC, will be deployed throughout the fair area. For women’s safety, surveillance will be conducted using anti-Romeo squads and drone cameras.
