Prayagraj: The sound of Haryanvi folk tunes, desi style and the fragrance of the soil were seen in the Cultural Centre auditorium on Wednesday. On the third day of Triveni Kala Utsav, concluded under the joint aegis of North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture, Government of India and Haryana Kala Parishad, Haryanvi folk singer Ramkesh Jeevanpuriya created such an atmosphere with his well-tuned voice and powerful presentation that the audience kept clapping for a long time and kept dancing to the tunes of the songs. The presentation of ‘Hat Ja Tau Pachhai Nai, Nachan De Jeevan Bhar Ka Nai’ made the atmosphere quite lively.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp jointly by the Chief Guest Prof. Pandit Sahitya Kumar Nahar, Retired Vice Chancellor, Raja Mansingh Music University, Gwalior, Mahesh Joshi, Vice President, Haryana Arts Council, Centre Director Sudesh Sharma and Programme Advisor Kalpana Sahay.
Ramkesh Jeevanpuria then began a rendition of Haryanvi folk songs. Songs like “Tere Bina Swami Mera Na Sahara,” “Zamana Rang Badalta Hai,” “Pehle Aali Hawa Rahi Na,” and “Hansana Bhi Jaruri Hua Karai” captivated the audience. Sometimes the songs reflected the changing times and relationships, while sometimes the Haryanvi lifestyle and typical Indian style captivated the audience.
Emotional songs like ‘The world changes its colour, like the sun sets every morning after rising’ connected the audience with empathy, while ‘Who says God?’ ‘Laughing too, I must laugh’ filled the atmosphere with humour and enthusiasm. After this, the auditorium reverberated with applause on the presentation of ‘Hat ja Tau paachhai nai, naachn de jibhar kai nai’. Jaipal accompanied Ramkesh Jeevanpuriya on the banjo, Sumit and Balram on the chorus and Amit on the dholak. The well-tuned accompaniment of the instruments and the energetic performance of the folk singer brought the traditional sweetness of Haryanvi folk music alive on the stage.
Mahesh Joshi receives Haryana Gaurav Samman: During the program, Center Director Sudesh Sharma presented the “Haryana Gaurav Samman” to Mahesh Joshi, Vice President of the Haryana Arts Council. Haryanvi artists were also honored with plants and robes. The audience in the auditorium applauded the artists upon receiving the honor. The program was hosted by Akash Agarwal.
