Police admin, traffic and guest house association holds deliberation
Prayagraj: In order to keep Prayagraj’s traffic system smooth, organized and easy during the upcoming wedding season and to provide relief to the general public from the problem of traffic jams, an important meeting was organized by the Police Traffic with the officials of related organizations including Allahabad Guest House Association, Tent Decorators and Caterers Association in the Triveni Auditorium located in Police Lines on Friday, October 9, 2026. Important topics like determining the timing of the wedding procession during the wedding season, ensuring compliance with traffic rules and controlling the traffic jam situation on major roads were discussed in detail in the meeting.
Special attention was drawn at the meeting to the fact that during weddings, the traffic on the roads increases significantly from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Furthermore, when the no-entry rule opens after 10 pm, traffic jams are likely to occur on many major routes due to the movement of vehicles, including heavy vehicles, and traffic associated with wedding ceremonies. Due to the lack of a complete alternative ring road in Prayagraj, the pressure of vehicles passing through the city also impacts the traffic system.
On this occasion, Gufran Ahmed, President of the Allahabad Guest House Association, detailed the traffic-related problems faced by wedding ceremonies before the officials. He explained that unplanned wedding processions, irregular parking of vehicles on the roads, blocked roads, and traffic violations create inconvenience for the general public. He stressed the need for better coordination between the concerned departments and the organizers to find practical solutions to these problems.
It was suggested at the meeting that, keeping in mind the upcoming wedding season, a clear and practical guideline should be developed regarding the timing of wedding processions, traffic on routes, parking arrangements, and traffic management outside wedding venues. Additionally, the operators and organizers of guest houses, wedding lawns, and other related institutions should be made aware of traffic rules and their cooperation should be ensured.
The traffic police officials, taking a positive stance on the issues and suggestions raised in the meeting, assured that efforts will be made to prepare necessary guidelines and effective action plan to improve the traffic system in the upcoming wedding season, so that along with the wedding ceremonies, the movement of common citizens also remains smooth.
The meeting agreed that smooth traffic is not solely the responsibility of the police administration, but is possible only through the collective participation of wedding organizers, business organizations, and ordinary citizens. If wedding processions are scheduled, there are no unnecessary road obstructions, and traffic rules are followed, the problem of traffic jams can be significantly reduced.
In this important meeting, Allahabad Guest House Association President Gufran Ahmed, Vice President Vidyasagar Keshari, Zonal Incharge Atin Gupta, Publication Minister Shahid Kamal, Zonal Incharge Akash Jaiswal, Vipin Agarwal, Sachin Tiwari, Akhil Gupta, Shubham Kushwaha, Vikas Singh, Shubham Kesharwani, Tent Decorators and Caterers Association President Ram Ji Jaiswal, Caterers Association President Priyank Agarwal, Akram Shagun and other officials and representatives of various organizations were present.
