Prayagraj: The expedition, which is proceeding along the Ganges River as part of River Sailing Expedition 2026, reached Nifra from Dangar on Tuesday. The convoy of cadets, which departed from Dangar on Tuesday morning, reached their next stop, Nifra, by noon. During this journey, the cadets faced many challenging situations due to the strong current of the Ganges, but they continued their journey with courage, patience, and presence of mind.
The campaign began with an awareness rally held in Dangar on Tuesday morning. The rally raised awareness among local residents about the importance of keeping the Ganga River clean and pure under the Namami Gange Mission. Cadets encouraged people to refrain from dumping garbage in the Ganga, maintain the river’s cleanliness, and be aware of the importance of water conservation.
Following the awareness rally, all the cadets departed for their next stop, Nifra. The journey proved challenging due to the extremely strong current of the Ganges between Dangar and Nifra. Amidst the changing river conditions and strong currents, the cadets had to open and close the sails of their boats to adapt to the changing conditions. The current was so strong that the boats were sometimes propelled forward without the need to row. Despite these challenging conditions, the cadets demonstrated discipline, teamwork, and resourcefulness, successfully completing their journey.
The expedition team is led by Commander Ravi Mishra. He explained that the journey from Dangar to Nifra was challenging due to the strong current of the Ganga, but the cadets faced these conditions with enthusiasm and discipline. He informed that the expedition team will stay at the primary school in Nifra for the night. The next morning, the team will resume its journey and leave for its next stop, Bisundar. PT Officer Ashok Chandra Bhatt, who is the safety in-charge of this boat expedition, is responsible for the expedition’s safety arrangements. Under his leadership and guidance, all three boats of the expedition are ready for their next journey while following the necessary safety precautions.
