Prayagraj: In the staging of Ram Katha by Shri Shri North Central Railway Ramleela Committee, the scene of Ram going to the forest was enacted on the fifth day today. Under it, Kaushalya ji and King Dasharatha were celebrating and preparing for the coronation of Ram. At the same time, Kaikeyi’s maid Manthara came and started persuading Kaikeyi that you should ask for two boons from King Dasharatha, one is exile for Ram and the other is the throne for Bharat, otherwise Bharat will not be able to become the king. Kaikeyi gets misled by him and goes to the anger room and scatters her clothes and jewellery here and there and lies down in the anger room. When King Dasharatha comes to know about this, he goes to him where Kaikeyi asks him for two boons, one is 14 years of exile for Ram and the other is the throne for Bharat. Dasharatha gets very hurt and refuses her but Kaikeyi remains adamant on her insistence. In the end, Ram goes to exile and with him, Lakshman and Sita also take permission and leave for exile. The Ganges River lies along the way, requiring a boat to cross. A boat is provided by Kevat, who washes Ram’s feet and offers to take nectar from his feet before boarding. The Lord accepts his condition and crosses the Ganges in Kevat’s boat. Bharata returns to Ayodhya from his maternal home, deeply saddened by the situation. He heads for the forest to bring Ram back. Upon arriving, Lakshmana believes Bharata is coming with an army to kill him, angering Lakshmana. However, after Ram’s persuasion, Lakshmana relents. When Bharata approaches him, he requests Ram to return to Ayodhya. Upon Ram’s refusal, he returns with his sandals and places them on the throne, waiting for him for 14 years. Shubhendu Rai plays Kaikeyi, Dilip Kevat plays Dasharatha, Guddu Khan plays Ram, Aditya, Laxman, Ravi, and Alka plays Sita, captivating the audience.
