Prayagraj: Northern Football Academy Prayagraj was awarded with the National Excellence Award 2024 at the International Ramayana Pratisthan Mahotsav held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh as the “Best Sports Academy” of Uttar Pradesh. Northern Football Academy has been providing proper guidance to players of different age groups to participate in state, national level and professional footballers in national level football competitions.
The founder & Head Coach of the academy, Indranil Ghosh, received this award from chief guest Sanatan Pandey, Lok Sabha member, and Sarvesh Pathak (Politician), VP Singh, President and social worker. The three day event was organized by the International Human Rights and Crime Control Council, New Delhi in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Northern Football Academy Prayagraj is the second professional academy in Uttar Pradesh recognized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). Since its inception in January 2015, the academy has produced many state, national and inter university players from different age group categories from Under-11 to senior level who have brought laurels for the city and the state. Vishnu Bhagwan Public School Director Abhishek Tiwari, Principal Dinesh Kumar Srivastava, C A V College Director Hanuman Upadhyay along with coaches congratulated Indranil on this achievement of the Academy. The academy is at present playing in Himachal Pradesh State Football League (both Men & Women), Reliance Youth League.
The Northern Football Academy team has many achievements for the city in various age groups in state National Inter Club Competitions some of which are as follows: Champions in both U-11 & U13 DASC Kids Football Tournament New Delhi 2023, Champions in Inter Club National Soccer Championship Vrindavan 2023, Runner Up in U-11 Bunkerhill Delhi Golden State League 2022-23 and Runner Up in Himachal Pradesh Senior State Women’s Football League 2020-21.
Academy has got two branches in Prayagraj as Vishnu Bhagwan Public School (VBPS) Jhalwa & CAV Inter College Civil Line & One in Kinnaur Himachal Pradesh are coached by NIS Diploma Holder- AFC C License Coach Indranil Ghosh & their Asst. Coaches Rahul Verma & Vikram Singh Bisht.
Apart from this Award, Northern Football Academy won the following awards earlier for the commendable work done in the field of football: Chetan Chauhan National Award New Delhi (2023), Best Academy Award in International Glory Award Mumbai 2022, Best Academy Award in India Sports Awards New Delhi (2022) and Best Academy Award by Rotary Allahabad Midtown Prayagraj (2020).
