Prayagraj: The Investiture Ceremony of the Boys’ High School (BHS) and College was held in the Saint Patrick’s Auditorium at the school premises on Tuesday. Col Praveen Kumar, Commanding Officer, 6 UP Girls Bn NCC was the chief guest. The function is of great importance as the school confers ceremonial ranks to the students to inculcate in them values of leadership and responsibility. The Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke welcomed the chief guest and accompanied him while the smartly dressed NCC cadets presented guard of honour.
On behalf of newly elected cabinet, College Captain, Samarth Khare took the oath to discharge the duties and responsibility vested in them by the school to the best of their capability and for the glory of the institution. The chief guest Col Praveen Kumar emphasized that rank is not a reward but a responsibility. It is after the duty attached has been sincerely and honestly discharged is when we should seek reward. He recalled his days from being a young student to become a decorated soldier and how focus along with grasping opportunity at the right time made his career a successful one.
In the end, he motivated the students to rise above self and prejudice in discharging their duties towards its alma mater. He thanked the principal and the management for putting up a great show befitting the legacy of this institution. The function came to an end with the vote of thanks by College Section In-charge Dr. (Mrs.) A. R. Mukhopadhyaya followed by the singing of the National Anthem.
