Prayagraj: Directorate of Extension, SHUATS, Prayagraj District, Patna, Bihar State’s five-day farmer excursion program of selected 46 farmers under the Atma Scheme concluded at the Extension Directorate on 22.11.2024. Director Extension Dr. Praveen Charan, while referring to the usefulness of integrated farming system to the farmers, said that when various enterprises of agriculture, crop production, cattle rearing, fruit and vegetable production, fish farming, forestry etc. are adjusted together in this manner, If they complement each other so that the efficiency, production and profitability of resources can be increased while keeping the environment safe, then we can call it an integrated farming system. Through this system, farmers can increase crop cover in their fields with the help of stored water and can increase their income by fully exploiting the available resources. Chief guest Mr. Kiran Kumar, Director of SRS Certification India said that due to indiscriminate use of chemicals, the health of the soil is deteriorating day by day due to which along with reduction in production, people are getting toxic products due to which health related problems are increasing day by day. Therefore, these problems can be solved by using organic farming. Mr. Dinesh Gurnani, Organic Consultant of SRS Certification India, said that organic production is not only the need of today’s time but by continuously using organic farming in crops, the effect of chemical pesticides can be gradually reduced and quality production can be achieved. .
