Dr. Kirtika Agarwal says – “Ahilyabai Holkar rebuilt Kashi Vishwanath Temple, connecting new generation with her legacy

Prayagraj: The 300th birth anniversary celebration of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar will be organized on December 15 at 3 PM in MP Hall, Motilal Nehru Institute of Technology, Teliarganj. The event’s chief guest will be Suresh Soni, National Executive Member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). This information was shared on Thursday by Dr. Kirtika Agarwal, Convenor of the Ahilyabai Holkar Tercentenary Celebration Committee, Prayagraj, during a press conference held at Vatsalya Hall, Civil Lines.

Dr. Kirtika Agarwal stated that the event aims to introduce today’s younger generation to Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s life and contributions. Her life is a golden chapter in Indian history. She ruled Indore for thirty years, during which she constructed hundreds of temples and dharmashalas across India. She oversaw the reconstruction of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and developed ghats in Varanasi, along with the Vishnupad Temple in Gaya, and several temples in Nashik, Ujjain, and other places. She made significant contributions to the field of education. During her reign, her people were treated with respect and equality, leading to her being revered as a goddess by the masses during her lifetime.

Dr. Agarwal further informed that Captain Meera Siddharth Dave, the National Secretary of the Celebration Committee, and Udayaraje Holkar, its Working President, will be the special guests at the event. The program will be presided over by Committee Chairperson Chandrakala Padia. The event will include a theatrical performance based on Ahilyabai’s life and an exhibition displaying related artifacts. Prior to the main event, various processions will be held across the city. The first procession will take place on December 7, starting from the Dharna Sthal near Civil Lines Church and passing through Hanuman Mandir and Vatsalya Hospital before returning to the starting point. Subsequent processions will be held on December 9 in Naini, December 10 in Dev Prayag Nagar, Phaphamau, and December 12 in Teliarganj. These processions will feature tableaux depicting significant moments from Ahilyabai Holkar’s life.

Dr. Agarwal invited people from all communities to attend the Tercentenary Celebration in large numbers. Organizing committee members Mrs. Reena Mishra, Ghanshyam Agrahari, and Murarji Tripathi were also present at the press conference.
