Prayagraj: WFCS Deanery on behalf of the Diocese of Lucknow Church of North India, the opening prayer was offered by Rev. Dr. Vineeta Eusebius at the Noble House of Bishop Johnson School and College, Mahatma Gandhi Marg. Thanksgiving was given to the Lord in the program. After the initial prayer, Rev. Dr. Vineeta Eusebius, welcomed Bishop of Lucknow, Morris Edgar Dan by giving him a bouquet. The program started with a beautiful rendition of the song Aaya Masih Charni Mein Tu by the choir of St. John’s Church. Songs of joy for the arrival of the Lord were sung from St. Peter’s Church and St. Paul’s Church, Jamuna Church.

Chief Guest Bishop Dan said, “Christmas is celebrated all over the world on December 25. Jesus Christ was born on this day. Therefore, people celebrate Christmas on the birthday of Jesus Christ. On this occasion, people congratulate each other by giving gifts and sweets. Also prayers are offered in homes and churches. People of all religions celebrate this festival with enthusiasm. Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm in India also. Its preparation starts a week in advance. Churches and homes are decorated with Christmas trees and lights. There are some important things everyone should know about the birth of Jesus Christ. Whenever any worldly scheme is inaugurated among the people, people are often desperate to know about it. But the birth of Jesus Christ was not an earthly matter; rather it was a heavenly plan from God the Father, the Creator. Therefore everyone should know about it.” In the end gifts were given to all the members.
