Prayagraj: The City Congress Committee launched the “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod” signature campaign. Signature campaign forms were distributed to party workers at a meeting chaired by City President Fuzail Hashmi at the party office in Jawahar Square on Thursday afternoon. Hashmi stated that democracy rests on the power of the vote, whose foundation is currently under threat. He urged the Election Commission to end the Modi government’s collusion with the Election Commission to manipulate voter lists and deprive voters of their right to vote, and to ensure transparency, accountability, and corrective measures are taken to ensure the enrolment of eligible and genuine citizens. He stated that the vote-stealing campaign launched by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is receiving widespread support across the country. The government’s sole objective is to murder democracy and the Constitution. State Congress President Ajay Rai will organize camps in all wards of the city to conduct the “Vote-Stealing” signature campaign, gathering signatures from genuine voters, to fully achieve Rahul Gandhi’s objective in the country. Coordinator Harikesh Tripathi stated that 25,000 signatures will be collected from the city and submitted to the state. After the meeting, Congress members walked from Jawahar Square, Clock Tower, Loknath, leaving behind the vote-chor throne, under the neem tree. Former UP Congress spokespersons Kishore Varshney, Parvez Siddiqui, Manas Shukla, Afroz Ahmed, Rajkumar Shukla, Ishtiyak Ahmed, Ram Manohar, Saroj Shahnawaz Qureshi, Nagendra Mishra, Naz Khan, Kameshwar Sonkar, Ahmed Ullah, Sandeep Sharma, Nafees Qureshi, Firoz Khan, Vishal Sonkar, Sartaj, Mohammad Noorul Qureshi, Keshav Pasi, Mohammad Naseem, Geeta Bharti, Mohammad Javed, Ajay Srivastava, etc. were present.
