International Yoga Day-2026 celebrated in a grand manner
Prayagraj: In celebration of International Yoga Day, a program was organized at the NASI campus, jointly with the Center for Ecological Restoration and the National Academy of Sciences, India, to promote and raise awareness about yoga. The program began with the lighting of a lamp by Chief Guest Akhilesh Tiwari, Yoga Guru. The program began with a welcome address by Santosh Shukla, Executive Secretary, NASI. Center Head Dr. Sanjay Singh delivered his address, stating that yoga is crucial for human life. He also emphasized that the environment will remain healthy only when we are healthy. Akhilesh Tiwari stated that yoga is India’s ancient cultural heritage, which is being adopted worldwide today. He urged all citizens to incorporate yoga into their daily lives and contribute to building a healthy and disease-free society. A puppet show, magic show, and an impressive play titled “Yoga… Not from tomorrow, but from today” were presented, which was brilliantly staged by the Backstage organization. This play, a blend of humor and seriousness, demonstrated that yoga is not just physical exercise but a path to balance between body, mind, and life. A healthy and balanced life begins not tomorrow, but today. The play inspires audiences to abandon the “tomorrow” mindset and embrace yoga as a part of their lives today. This play, filled with songs, music, and powerful dialogues, featured powerful performances by Amar Singh, Satish Tiwari, Dilip Srivastava, Chahat Jaiswal, and Divyan Srivastava. The song was sung by Dilip Srivastava. Written by Praveen Shekhar, the play was directed by Amar Singh and Praveen Shekhar. At the end of the program, a vote of thanks was given by Alok, Senior Scientist, ERC. Officials and staff from both institutions, as well as students and teachers from other institutions, representatives from social organizations, and ordinary citizens participated enthusiastically. All those present pledged to practice yoga regularly and inspire others to do the same. The program was successfully conducted by Rashmi Mishra of NASI, Prayagraj. Earlier in the morning, Yoga Sangam was organized at Ecological Restoration Centre, Prayagraj campus. Earlier in the morning, Yoga Sangam was organized at ERC Prayagraj campus, in which trained yoga teachers Sangeeta Singh and Avinash Singh made the participants practice various yoga postures, pranayama and meditation techniques. The officers and employees present collectively practiced Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Bhujangasana, Vajrasana, Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati and other yoga activities. Centre head Dr. Sanjay Singh said that regular yoga practice is very important for physical health as well as mental balance and positive lifestyle.
