Prayagraj: The Bharatiya Kisan Union held its monthly meeting at the Stone Church on Monday. The meeting determined the strategy for the movement to address various problems facing farmers. Youth State President Anuj Singh stated that issues related to farmers’ land, electricity, irrigation, and fertilizers should be resolved in a timely manner. If these problems are not resolved, the organization will continue to strongly raise the voice of farmers.

The meeting decided to surround the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department on October 6th. Also, preparations for Chaudhary Rakesh Tikait’s arrival in Prayagraj on October 27th and the Kisan Kranti Mahapanchayat were discussed. The discrepancy in the allocation of shares in the Khatauni (land records) was made a major issue.

Farmers stated that shares should not be determined equally based solely on the names recorded in the Khatauni. The actual share should be determined according to family history. Regarding the power system, the problem of frequent transformer failures due to overload was raised. Demands were made to increase the capacity of transformers, replace faulty transformers promptly, and repair dilapidated power lines. Demands were also made to release adequate water into canals for irrigation, increase their capacity, and ensure proper operation of pumps.

Concerns were also raised about the shortage of fertilizer in the district, given the upcoming crop sowing season. A demand was made to provide adequate fertilizer to farmers in a timely manner. District President Lal Pratap, Youth District President Rameez Naqvi, Women District President Gunja Patel, Ganga Par Incharge Ram Prasad, Ganga Nagar President Sitaram, District Incharge Pankaj Pasi, Tehsil President Sadar Manoj along with other officials and workers were present in the meeting.
