Prayagraj: As per the directions of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, a successful Yoga Programme was organized by the Cantonment Board Prayagraj on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga on Sunday. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the office staff of Cantonment Board Prayagraj, employees of the Cantonment Board General Hospital, teachers, staff members, and students of all schools functioning under the Cantonment Board. The event was conducted at Cantt High School, New Cantt Campus.

This year marks the celebration of the 12th International Day of Yoga, with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Through the yoga session, participants were encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle and practice yoga regularly for their overall well-being.

The Chief Guest of the programme was Defence Estates Officer Amit Mishra, while the Chief Executive Officer, Nagesh Kumar Pandey, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Executive Officer stated that in today’s fast-paced lifestyle, marked by stress and various health-related challenges, yoga inspires us to lead a healthy, happy, and positive life. He emphasized that regular yoga practice not only strengthens the body but also enhances mental concentration, self-confidence, and work efficiency.

The yoga session was conducted by Yoga Instructor Dr. Komal Jaiswal and Yoga Trainer Pankaj Mishra. Participants practiced various yoga postures (asanas), pranayama, and meditation techniques. The programme conveyed the message of leading a healthy and balanced life through yoga. Among the distinguished dignitaries present on the occasion were Nominated Member Vinod Balmiki, Office Superintendent Srinivas Pandey, Dr. P. P. Shukla, Dr. Siddharth Pandey, Captain A. K.
