Prayagraj: In today’s times, when society is grappling with stress, depression, and negativity, reciting the Sri Sundarkand acts as a spiritual medicine. This fifth step of Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas is not merely a religious ritual, but also a text that teaches the art of living. Dr. Sushil Sinha, outgoing president of the UP Nursing Association, said this during the Sri Sundarkand recitation and Aarti ceremony held at the Narmadeshwar Mahadev Temple in Kalindipuram.
Dr. Sushil Sinha, outgoing president of Kayastha Pathshala, says, “Sunderkand isn’t just a text to be recited, it’s a book to be put into practice. If we incorporate even one of Hanuman’s qualities into our lives, both our families and society will become beautiful. This is why we’ve organized a group recitation for this event, so that more people can connect with this positive energy.” To spread this sentiment, a recitation of Shri Sundarkand, distribution of Prasad, and a feast were organized, which received immense support from the enlightened people and sisters of the western part of the city.
Mr. Sinha said that Hanuman’s journey to Lanka and search for Sita demonstrates that even the greatest crisis can be overcome with patience, wisdom, and valor. Today’s youth, inspired by this, possess a spirit of unwavering determination. Hanuman served Lord Shri Ram without any selfish motive. Social service and national service are the greatest religions. True devotion lies in rising above position and prestige and living for others. The verses of the Sundarkand have such power that reciting them dispels negative thoughts. Psychiatrists also believe that collective recitation reduces stress and fosters brotherhood. Hanuman’s respect for Sita in Ashoka Vatika sends a powerful message to today’s society about respecting women. He uses power not for abuse, but for protection. Local people left their homes and neighborhoods to recite the Sundarkand collectively in the temple, praying for an atmosphere of harmony and peace in society.
