Prayagraj: On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit (055) of Rajarshi Tandon Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Prayagraj, organized a yoga practice program on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” The program’s objective was to raise awareness about yoga among volunteers and the college community and to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The program was conducted under the guidance of the college’s respected Principal, Professor Ajay Prakash Khare.
The program was inaugurated by yoga instructor Dr. Prashant Tiwari. Under his guidance, the volunteers and participants performed group yoga exercises, practicing various yoga asanas and pranayama. All participants enthusiastically participated in the program.
On this occasion, the respected Principal, Professor Ajay Prakash Khare, in his address, said, “Yoga is an invaluable heritage of Indian culture.” Yoga serves as a unifying force. It unites the body, mind, and soul, connecting the individual to self, society, and nature. Regular yoga practice not only strengthens physical health but also develops mental peace, self-confidence, and positive thinking. Especially in old age, yoga plays a vital role in keeping the body active, the mind happy, and life balanced. Yoga is essential for a healthy and active old age.” Highlighting the importance of yoga, the message was given to incorporate it into daily life for a healthy life, mental balance, and longevity. Volunteers also pledged to practice yoga regularly and spread awareness about yoga in society.
“Yoga is not just exercise, but a path to coordination of body, mind and soul.” Finally, the program was successfully concluded by giving the message of adopting yoga for building a healthy, active and balanced life. Senior teachers Prof. Neelima Singh, Prof. Namita Yadav, Dr. Priyanka Sharma (Programme Officer, National Service Scheme), Dr. Amitendra Pratap Singh, Dr. Vivek Singh, Dr. Shaminaz Bano, Dr. Anshu Tripathi, Dr. Varsha Agarwal, Dr. Anil Kumar, college teachers, research scholars, non-teaching staff and all the volunteers of National Service Scheme were present in the program with great respect.
