Prayagraj: On Friday, the candle light service program at St. John’s Church on Katju Road was conducted by the church’s pastor Shashi Prakash. On this special occasion, the chief guest was Bishop Morris Edgar Dan of Diocese of Lucknow and the special guest was Pastor Ajit Oliver Francis. The program began with a reading from the Gospel of Matthew 5:16. May your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Reflecting on this, Bishop Morris Edgar Dan said that God has given a special gift to Christians, that is, their simple and loving life can provide an example to the society. He told that God sent Lord Jesus Christ into the world at a time when the whole world was infected with sin. He also told that no matter what the religion may be, God came into this world in the form of a human being so that humans can understand that God also suffers the same troubles as humans.

Finally he explained that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ as a light of hope was a plan of God that brought about the salvation of mankind. A special qawwali *Messiah is about to come….was presented in the program. Choirs from other churches also participated in this program. After the program, special refreshments were arranged by the church members. Pastor Shashi Prakash said that special enthusiasm is being seen from children to the elderly regarding the Christmas festival and preparations have also started, the complete list of which has been distributed among the people of the church. He told that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people regarding carol singing which will start on the scheduled date. Since there is a special concern in the Christian community regarding the Qawwali of St. John’s Church, hence this year Qawwali and Jesus Arrival songs will be sung in the homes of all the members. He said that under the guidance of Bishop Morris Edgar Dan, the Diocese of Lucknow is moving towards creating a new record and a special enthusiasm is being seen in all the programs this year. Martha Massey, Samson Masih, Sunil Verma, Sarju Prasad, Balbir Prasad, Monisha Grey, Dheeraj Singh, Mavis Prasad, Rita Srivastava, Victor Henry, Rajan Nath etc. were present in the program.
