By taking bath in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Antasalila Saraswati, they will become partakers of virtue and will also get relief from eye diseases. This will be a golden opportunity especially for those living in rural areas. He said that this time the eyes of about five lakh devotees will be examined free of cost. Free spectacles will be given to three lakh people. Meanwhile, National Organization Minister of ‘Saksham’ Chandrashekhar ji said that more than 1 crore 25 lakh people in the country are suffering from the problem of eye diseases. A large number of people lose eyesight due to lack of awareness. This is blindness which can be cured by proper treatment. The reality is that lakhs of people in the country are suffering from blindness due to defect and non-availability of cornea. With public awareness the country can be completely free from corneal blindness. General Secretary of the Organizing Committee, former senior administrative officer Sarvagya Ram Mishra said that before Kumbh 2019, Netra Kumbh was organized in Prayagraj. In this, the eyes of more than two lakh devotees were examined. About one lakh fifty-five thousand patients were given spectacles. More than twenty-three thousand people had undergone eye surgery after the Kumbh. After this, Netra Kumbh was also organized in 2021 Haridwar Kumbh. Renowned gynecologist and media coordinator of Netra Kumbh, Dr. Kirtika Aggarwal is very excited about Netra Kumbh.
She says that if there is any most important organ in the body of an animal, it is the eye. That is why the motto of Netra Kumbh has been kept as ‘Pashayem Sharadah Shatam’. The meaning of this sentence is – Let us look at this beautiful creation created by God for a hundred years. Netra Kumbh has been planned with this concept in mind. In Netra Kumbh, not only vision related patients will get the benefit of treatment but they will also get a direct glimpse of the divine experience of human sensitivity. He told that many voluntary organizations are supporting Netra Kumbh. Prominent among them are ‘Saksham’, ‘The Hans Foundation’, ‘Swami Vivekananda Health Mission’, ‘Shri Bhaurao Deoras Trust’, ‘Shri Rajju Bhaiya Seva Trust’, ‘National Medicos Organisation’ and ‘Rashtriya Seva Bharti’ etc. The specialty of Prayagraj Netra Kumbh 2025 is that this time, along with the Netra Kumbh and even after that, arrangements have been made to undergo eye surgery for more than fifty thousand people in an eye hospital near their permanent residence.
