Mediation campaign to run till Sept 30
Record settlement of 230 cases by Mediation Center District Legal Services Authority in July
Prayagraj: Secretary, District Legal Services Authority appealed to the general public and legal practitioners to avail the benefits of this campaign by submitting their applications within the month of July. As per the instructions of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow and District Judge / Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, under the National Mediation Campaign, such cases pending in the court through mediation, in which there is a high possibility of resolution on the basis of reconciliation agreement, then such cases are to be settled on the basis of reconciliation agreement through mediation under the said campaign, so that the litigants can get quick justice and their money and time will also be saved.
Dinesh Kumar Gautam, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Prayagraj informed that this campaign will be run till 30 September 2025 and under this campaign, matrimonial dispute cases pending in the court, motor accident claim cases, domestic violence cases, check bounce cases, commercial dispute cases, minor criminal cases, consumer department cases, loan recovery cases, property division related cases, land acquisition cases and other suitable civil cases have been included. The main objective of mediation is to resolve disputes by mutual consent, without going to court. The primary goal of mediation is to resolve disputes by mutual consent, to help both parties listen and understand each other. Mediation helps in maintaining relations between the parties and gives the parties the right to resolve their disputes themselves. The process of mediation is usually confidential, which means that whatever is said in mediation is not made public. Mediation is less expensive than court proceedings. The Secretary District Legal Services Authority has appealed to the general public and legal practitioners that they can take advantage of this campaign by submitting their respective applications in the concerned court and get their cases settled on the basis of mediation. In the month of July 2025, a record of 230 cases has been settled by the Mediation Center District Legal Services Authority Prayagraj.
